NEW GLOBAL AIRPORT PLANNING SURVEY TO LAUNCH BEGINNING MAY 2010 16 March 2010 for immediate release: An “Airport Region Research Survey” will be launched at the beginning of May by a research team based at UNSW FBE as part of the Airport Metropolis Research Project to support the ‘spatial synthesis’ research component. Airports (including gateway Australian airports) will be approached for facts and opinions regarding the planning implications of their operations. Most airports in the sample will have an annual passenger throughput exceeding one million passengers. The survey requires filling in and submitting an online form, and covers a range of questions subdivided into the following main sections:
The questions are directed to the Chief Executive Officer or General Manager, but may also be completed by a manager responsible for either airport planning, property, commercial development, or general corporate/community relations. Airports participating in the survey will receive an executive summary of the main conclusions and recommendations arising from the responses.
